Hello paranormal enthusiasts and haunted travelers! My name is Bethanie Black, and I am firstly a graphic designer, secondly a lover of ghosts and ghost hunting. I have always wanted to combine this love of the graphic arts with a topic and community I just love.
THE GOAL
to help inform you in a way that is not just historical and the ghostly claims, but also in a way that is visually engaging.
WHAT ARE INFOGRAPHICS?
According to Adobe, “An infographic is a clear and visual representation of data and information. Leaning on elements like imagery, symbols, charts, and diagrams, an infographic can make complex ideas easy to understand.”
Rather than reading a text-heavy book that is hard to read, or you’re having a hard time visualizing what the book may be trying to convey (like this article!).
Here are some examples of some infographics I’m inspired by:

Kurzgesagt (kurts-guh-zaakt) – German word meaning “in a nutshell”
Kurzgesagt is a well-known YouTube channel that has 24+ million subscribers (as of July 2025), which is basically an animated infographic. I love the design, and trust me when I say this, this is extremely ambitious to aim for. However, on their homepage banner, it says “Quality > Quantity”, which is the exact mindset I have for this journey. I will do my best to match the beautiful design that they very clearly worked hard on.

World Bank’s Climate Extremes, Regional Impacts and the Case for Resilience
This infographic is filled with tons of information and done in a beautiful visual. In the South Asia section shows a flat 2D version of some architecture which is exactly how I want to share the location just at the very top of the design first.
This design was actually a project given to me while I was working on Universal Orlando. While the work I did was internal design, I had the rare opportunity to make something for external marketing.
